Kinesiologist - Burlington Family Health Team

Position:  Kinesiologist

Full-Time 1.0 FTE Position Available

Reports to: Executive Director

The Burlington Family Health Team is looking for Kinesiologists who are dynamic team players to join an innovative, inter-disciplinary community-based primary care health team.  We are establishing a new program that will provide community-based pain management for chronic MSK issues to patients of Burlington Primary Care Family Physicians.  We are looking for energetic individuals who are adaptable and excel in collaboration and innovation.  You will deliver rehabilitation services in accordance with FHT policies and professional practice standards. 

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Works under the direction of the Physiotherapist and/or Occupational Therapist in matters regarding treatment, progression of treatment and management of clients
  • Implementation and delivery of community-based exercise/rehabilitation programs
  • Facilitation of group based education including some evenings and weekends
  • Collaboration with other health care professionals to provide community education and outreach services
  • Prepares reports delegated by the PT/OT as needed
  • Provides administrative support as needed
  • Responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of equipment and supplies
  • Acting as an ambassador for the program


  • A University degree in Kinesiology or equivalent
  • Current registration in good standing with the College of Kinesiologists of Ontario
  • Professional Liability Insurance Coverage
  • 3 or more years of similar experience is an asset
  • Previous experience with creating and implementing physical exercise programs is required
  • Experience with group-based programs is an asset
  • Clinical experience with chronic MSK conditions and neurological populations is an asset
  • Ability to work collaboratively as a member of a multidisciplinary team
  • Superior communication, problem-solving, time management, computer and documentation skills
  • Willing to travel to local gyms or mobile sites to deliver programs
  • Demonstrated ability to deal effectively with change
  • Demonstrated experience working with computers and technology (i.e. EMRs and Ontario Telehealth)
