Lakehead University, Thunder Bay Campus, invites applications for a Program Coordinator in the Graduate Diploma in Professional Kinesiology program in the School of Kinesiology at a level commensurate with experience and qualifications. This full-time position will commence September 5, 2017.

The Coordinator works closely with the faculty, staff, and students of the School of Kinesiology. Responsibilities include: coordinating and managing practicum placements, and facilitating the weekend practical courses in the graduate diploma program. Specifically, the successful candidate will recruit practicum placement partners, facilitate contractual arrangements and respond to student inquiries regarding practicum opportunities. Additionally, it is the expectation that the Program Coordinator will develop, maintain, and distribute marketing material and participate in Lakehead University promotional activities. The incumbent will also provide administrative support for all graduate programs in the School of Kinesiology.

Applicants should possess, minimally, a Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology or a related field augmented with additional related certification(s). In addition, the applicant should have recent work experience in the field of kinesiology. Registration with the College of Kinesiologists of Ontario is an asset.

Applicants should be proficient with computers and technology and have excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Additional skills include the ability to work in a collaborative team environment and the capacity to multi-task. Strong analytical and problem solving skills along with the ability to attend to detail are a must. Current first aid and CPR certification are required.
